2 Peter 3:17-18 beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Brothers, a man does not “fall into sin.” He doesn’t get up one day and tragically fall into adultery. A man doesn’t accidently get addicted to pornography or innocently trip into the trap of lying or cheating on his expense report. Whatever the sin, the reason a man ends up in disgrace and shame is that he was not steadfast in pursuing his relationship with Jesus Christ.
Temptations are out there waiting on you every day and when you fail to keep the safeguards in your life strong by neglecting your time with God you will eventually yield to temptation.
Bottom line, brothers, pray!
Keep short accounts with God. Three times a day examine your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any areas in your life that you are wavering. Be steadfast, be determined, and be consistent.
