Sudden stops can be fatal and at best they are usually uncomfortable.
The reason I mention this is that for all you PEPpers, tomorrow begins our annual Sabbath month. At its core, Sabbath is about trusting God enough that we devote one day a week as “His day.” On that day we stop living like we have the other six days and devote ourselves to rest, re-storation, and re-creation; or as lady told me last Sunday, “The Lord’s day is my pray and play day.”
Let me give you a hint on how to make “The Lord’s Day” a special day…ease into it by winding down Saturday afternoon. If you wait to slam on the brakes in the morning to begin the Lord’s day your body, emotions and spirit will not be ready.
That is why I’m encouraging everyone to join me at this evening’s 6:00 p.m. Communion and Prayer service. It is a good way to ease up to the stop sign so that you can come to a complete stop – look both ways – and then move forward rested, restored, and refreshed on Monday.
By the way, the air conditioning will be on! Dress comfortably – both this evening and tomorrow.
