The ONE THING for June 22, 2012: A Call for Men (and Women) to Pray – 6/28 Days of Developing a Prayer Life

When it comes to making time to pray, a change of routine offers it own set of challenges.  I’ve experienced that during my little family get-away these last couple of days.  Weekends can do the same thing.   The key will be staying focused.  There are some things we do everyday no matter what our schedule looks like.  We call those things “the essentials”.  I can think of nothing more essential than making the time to touch in with our Creator God.  Stay focused brothers!  Wherever you do today…pray.

By the way, keep Team Kemp in your prayers this morning, we’re all be heading back home in a few hours; pray for traveling mercy.

Blessings all.  See you tomorrow, Lord willing.  I’m expecting an extraordinarily great day…what with a couple hundred men having prayed this week!

Devotional:

 Sat., June 23, 2012:

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Well fellows, we are wrapping up our first week in our commitment to pray for 28 days about those things that God has put in our hands.  Let me encourage you to not grow weary in well-doing.

There may be several blocks that you have not checked off this week in your commitment to pray three times a day, but remember, failing doesn’t mean the same as quitting.

Failing means you fell down, quitting means you don’t get back up.

Failing means you missed a shot, quitting means you never attempt another shot again.

Failing means you dropped the ball, quitting means you never carry the ball again.

Failing means you are human, getting back up and trying again means that you are a human that is not a quitter.

Keep at it!  Pray brothers!  The stakes are high and the rewards are great.
