This afternoon my son sent me a link to a song that had meant a lot to him; he thought it might be a blessing to me. It was. Matter of fact, it touched me so much that I brought up my iTunes account to buy it. However, as I listened to the “canned” version it didn’t have the same punch. I thought to myself, the “live” version is better.
Then came the “aha” moment for the day. That’s how I want to be. I want to live my life so that my touch is better than an e-version of me, i.e. email, tweeter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, websites, etc., etc. (Will it ever stop!?). When people say to me, “You should have been there”, I don’t want it to be because I missed something, but because I was missed. Bottom line, I want to live my life in such a way that “me live” adds value, whether at home or abroad.
How ‘bout you? I bet you feel the same way. Don’t let this “e-world” hid the best part of you – you “live”.
- Touch more, tweet less
- Talk face-to-face more, Facebook less
- Love more, Linked-In less
- Mail cards/letters more, email less
- Write more/text less
- Be there more/send pictures less
- You get the picture…
By the way the song Lee suggested was: “Always” (Live) by Kristian Stanfill, check it out on youtube.com
Amen! My generation is hiding behind a screen.
