Information for Panama Trip

Project Panama (Open to FMCOG members/attenders)

I am excited that you are considering going with Sonja and me to Panama.  I believe you will be greatly enriched and blessed by your investment and I know you will be a blessing to those we partner with there.  Following is information that I hope will help you make your decision.

What is the date of the trip? November 9-12, 2012

What is the cost? Approximately 900.00 – 1100.00

Will I need a passport? Yes

Will I need shots? I would recommend a tetanus shot / but none are required

Where will we stay? One of three options will be available (according to how many go with us)

• At Casa Hogan (the Home for Children that we support)
• At Isaiah’s House (a missionary’s home designed to accommodate mission teams)
• At a motel

Can I take my children? Yes, children (under age 18) can go provided they are accompanied by a parent

What is the itinerary?

• Friday, November 9 – travel day / arrive in Panama City / get settled in / enjoy a group meal
• Saturday, November 10 – Visit Casa Hogan Home / Visit several of the churches and ministries that we have supported / Shopping / Dinner with the Staff and children at the Casa Hogan home followed by fun time and an evening devotional with the children / fall into bed exhausted and happy
• Sunday, November 11 – Attend service at one of the churches we support / visit the Panama Canal / relaxing group meal / possible sight-seeing and shopping / evening devotional / pack for tomorrow’s departure
• Monday, November 12 – travel day
• NOTE: Please keep in mind that the key word for travel plans on mission’s trips is “flexible” J

What do I need to do to sign up? Deposit 600.00 per person ASAP.  The balance will be due before our departure date.

• You can make your deposits by using your tithe envelope using the blank line.  Write in “Deposit for Panama Trip”.  Your deposit will be used to purchase your ticket and will ensure you a place on the trip. 
• Following receiving your deposit(s), I will give you regular updates on the progress of the trip and as we get closer we will have a few group meetings to answer questions and help prepare you for making this an enjoyable and meaningful trip.
