Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
- Father God, as we your people head out today on the path that you have determined for us, please go with us and please stir up a hunger in hearts to love your Holy Scriptures so that we take them with them.
- I pray that YOU will not only place within our hearts a hunger for your word, but also by your Holy Spirit, anoint us that we can understand your word and apply it to our lives.
- I also pray for the preachers and teachers that serve your people. Give us a deep and abiding hunger to know your word and apply your word to our lives so that we can say, “Come join me on this path”.
- For this day, please protect us on the path of life; keep us from sin, give us the grace to bear up should you lead us through sorrow and suffering and the humility to be grateful should you lead us through victory and success.
- And above all, may our lives bring glory and honor to you so that we ourselves become “living bibles” that others may learn of you and be saved.
- I ask these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen and thank you.
