120525: Father God, today I am reminded that it is not enough that your word is right and all your work is done in truth, but my interpretation and application of your word must be right as well. It’s like saying, “Sam beat his wife” (at monopoly). That statement can be interpreted in more than one way – falsely, truthfully and exactly. For example, if I make it seem like Sam applied violence to his wife, I will have misinterpreted the truth. The truth is Sam beat/defeated his wife at a game. The exact truth is that Sam beat his wife at a game of monopoly.
Father God, I pray that YOU will give me the insight to rightly interpret your word and also the wisdom to rightly apply it – both to my life and the lives of those that I am privileged to preach to.
Furthermore, I pray that YOU will help me to speak truthfully in every area of my life and help me to produce people who love your truth and walk in your truth.
