The story is told of a small congregation in the hills of Tennessee that was conducting a business meeting to consider changing their name. The issue was whether or not to change the name from “Puddlington Church of God” to “Puddlington Christian Church.” 
The debate was going nowhere until one of the old church fathers stood up and said, “I’ve been Church of God for over fifty years and nobody’s going to start calling me a Christian now!” That ended the debate.
- Trust me, if you are a PEPper, as your pastor, I have no problems with people calling you a Christian. Of course, I’ll also be counting on you acting like one! 🙂
