Over the next few days I want you to make “God’s Call on your Life” the ONE THING.
If you do not get that right then nothing else is going to work right.
It’s like having your car freshly washed, tuned and ready to go but having no fuel in the tank. You can spend hours preparing and pampering your car but if you fail to get the required fuel you’re going nowhere.
Let me carry the example of the car a little further. Your car requires a certain type of fuel. A gasoline engine will not run on diesel fuel or rocket fuel, it requires gasoline.
This illustrates your life. Your calling is the fuel that drives your life. If you don’t get that right you will be like so many people in the world – polishing and waxing their lives, making plans for the trips they are going to take but they have no fuel; they’re going nowhere. Furthermore, your life will not run on just any calling. The clearer you get on your calling; or better yet, who you are called to the more traction you will get with your life.
Over the next few days I am going to walk you through some of my efforts at determining the calling on my life. Perhaps it will help you in determining the calling on yours.
By the way, I’ve encouraged you from time to time to make journaling a part of your life…I strongly suggest that you carefully craft your “calling affirmations” and make them a regular part of your prayer and devotional time.
So, let’s get going on our calling…
- FIRST: God’s Call on my life: I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and therefore has a claim on me that I must not and will not resist; instead, I will make Jesus and His glory and desire my ultimate and final authority and focus in all I do and in all of my responsibilities and relationships.
