John 10:7 Jesus said, “I am the door…”
Jesus said and did a lot of outrageous things. For example, He went around forgiving people of their sins. Think about that for a minute. Who do you know that goes around forgiving people of their sins?
Let’s look at it this way. It is perfectly reasonable and noble for a man to forgive you for something you do to him.
For example, suppose he loaned you 10.00 to buy lunch one day and six months later you still had not paid him back. It would be reasonable for him to say to himself, “Well I forgive them and I will think no more about it.”
But suppose that same man started forgiving other people of things that they had done to you! What right would he have to do that!?
Yet that is what Jesus did and does every day. But then, He’s God and He makes the rules. Therefore when we make Him the “filter” (door) by which we run everything through we can expect some surprises.
