John 10:7 Jesus said, “I am the door…”

Recently we had our house painted.  In the process Sonja came to the conclusion that she wanted the door painted a different color.  She browsed through the many sample colors and made her pick.

To me, she made the best choice – it is beautiful (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).

However, you don’t have to agree with Sonja’s choice.  I’m sure you’d be kind enough to not to say so, but you may think the color she chose is ugly.  If it had been your choice, you would have gone an entirely different direction.

That is why we have choices, people have different tastes and that is fine when it comes to style and personal preferences.

However… (put your seatbelt on), when it comes to what you really want – abundant life and eternal happiness (heaven), according to Jesus there is only options – Himself.

Jesus didn’t say, “I am a door”, he said, “I am the door.”

Jesus didn’t introduce himself to the world with a slick advertizing campaign to try to convince us that he was the latest in fashion and style when it comes to “doors.”  He didn’t join the line-up of other prophets, gods and religions as one among many; He simply stated, “The party’s over.  Close the “god-shop” and turn out the lights.  There is no other option but me.  Either enter into life and heaven through me or you will not get there.”

Either He was a madman or really who He says He was.  You decide…

Your decision has enormous consequences, choose carefully and wisely.
