Hello!
Today’s one thing is: “Identify that one thing that you should stop in order to have a better future.”
The rationale behind today’s “one thing” is grounded in one of my life principles – “Think trajectory”. Your life is always headed in a particular direction and there are powerful gravitational forces pulling at you every day in order to get you to change the direction. Most of them are very subtle and gradual; you can be way off course with where you really want your life to go and not even be aware of it. That is why it is good to sit down on a regular basis and reflect on today’s “one thing”. For example, I organize my life with Microsoft’s “Outlook” and I have a reminder that comes up on the last Friday of each month to remind me to do this.
But here’s the key – do not stop with stopping! Nature hates a vacuum and I assure you that if you are not intentional with replacing what you stop with something that will propel you toward a better future that you will drift into replacing it with something just as bad or worst. It’s like the person that stops smoking and replaces it with eating more – what good does that do?
Bottom line, in our success-driven-fast-paced-lives we are programmed to always thinking doing more; but today put the brakes on and ask yourself, “What is the one thing that I should STOP in order to have a better future.”
Blessings,

Hints of things to stop:
“Beating dead horses” issues – there was a time that a certain activity was life-producing and helpful but now it is really a draining activity.
- Ecc. 3:1 – To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:
Out of balance issues – there are things you do that can be helpful and/or life enriching but there comes a tipping point when they start cannibalizing other more important things in your life – like time for family and the practice of your faith.
- 1 Timothy 4:8 – For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
Sin issue – are you deceived? Have you duped yourself into believe that you can live a secret life in certain areas? The Bible is clear, sin will remain hidden; your sins will find you out. Be honest with yourself; listen to your conscience and the Holy Spirit and repent (change direction)!
- Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
