AFFIRMATION OF THE DAY: I will remember that only those with inferior ability can always be at their best, therefore I will not allow happy or sad emotions to side-track me from my pursuit of excellence and God-centered service, but will focus daily on the mission at hand in order to execute with passion, purpose and excellence what God has called me to be and do.

Good morning…again!
I was listening to a CD yesterday where the speaker was recounting a time that he came in from a skiing trip and proudly reported to his dad that he had skied all day and had not fallen once. His dad surprised him by replying that he was disappointed that he had not fallen. When the son asked why his dad replied, “Because it means you didn’t push yourself and you’re never improve unless you do.”
There is a lesson in that for all of us. Remember, failure is not only to be expected, but it should be strived for. Dare to push yourself today. Dare to believe in yourself and the ability and mission that God has given you. Dare to fail…and learn from it.
Blessings,
dlk

Pastor, today’s Affirmation speaks especially loudly to me. I’m afraid we “emotional types” allow our emotions to take the blame for just about anything that happens, good or bad. “I was having a bad day” or “‘things just weren’t going well today”. But I need to stay focused on my pursuit of excellence and God-centered serivce, no matter what roller coaster my emotions happen to be riding! Thanks for reminding me!!! You’re the BEST!
