Having arrived just a few minutes ago, Sonja and I are settling in for hopefully a good night’s sleep in Savannah GA this evening. We left Orlando around 5:00 p.m. right during rush hour traffic 😦 to point our car and hearts toward home. Its been a long ten days. As I reflect on this day and if it had any eternal value to it, I can only say that I did what was asked of me. It’s hard to see any eternal value in sitting through hours of tedious parliamentarian debate; but it was what was required of me and I did it unto the Lord; that makes it of eternal value. Only when I get to Heaven will I be able to see the good that my obedience achieved.
That is how much of life is. There are those special moments when it is obvious that we are doing something of eternal value, but much of what we do is simply the taking care of duties and responsibilities of life. I am so thankful, however, that even if it is just giving someone a glass of cool water; if we do it in the name of Jesus it has eternal value.
That gives me peace about this day and hopefully it will do the same about yours.
