100523: Day Five, but in Hungary

Today started in Oradea but is ending in Budapest, Hungary.  It has been a very meaningful day for me.

The pastor about to baptize one of the candidates. Notice the beautiful dress she is wearing. They were dressed like that.

The highlight of the day was ministering at a Roma (Gypsy) church.  It was out in the country on the edge of a little village and the service was conducted in the open air.  The conditions were very primitive, but the people were extremely friendly and the presence of the Holy Spirit was there.

You can be sure that I gave them special greetings from their brothers and sister at the Fort Mill Church of God and that I pronounced the Numbers 6 blessing over them.  I even had the privilege of dedicating a little child named Solomon to the Lord.  Plus I was able to witness a water baptism.

All in all it was a very moving and enjoyable experience.

Following the four hour service I was driven back to the Chaplain’s Center got on the bus and road another four hours back to Budapest.  We are staying in a very nice motel but their restaurant service is bad!  They lost my table’s order and after two hours we left without eating \ I’m hungry in Hungry!  But it won’t hurt me to miss a meal.  Matter of fact, Sonja and put a jar of peanut butter and crackers in my suitcase.  Unfortunately I left the crackers and knife back in Oradea so I have been reduced to eating peanut butter and getting it out of the jar with my finger (I’ve always wanted to do that!).  But it won’t hurt me to miss a meal and after witnessing the extreme poverty and persecution of our gypsy brothers and sisters I have nothing to complain about.

Tomorrow is a tourist day.  Hopefully I will get to visit a few sights and then turn in early to prepare for an early flight back to the states on Tuesday (I wish the flight was tomorrow.)

The little lad I was priveleged to dedicate (Solomon) / his mother is holding him.

I look forward to seeing you all very soon.
