100428: Wednesday update…

Hello everyone,

Wednesday has been a good day.  One of the “Wednesday tasks” that I have is to review the budget / especially the ministry budgets.  This is where I review each department’s progress and funding.  At the FMCOG this is not a boring chore that must be done, instead it is a chance to brief myself on all the exciting things that are happening at FMCOG.  I am so thankful for all our pastors and directors and the many dedicated volunteers that serve with them / they are doing a great job.  Thanks everyone!  I’m so proud of you all (and extremely thankful!!!).

This being the fourth Wednesday of the month also included a Church & Pastor’s Council meeting.  Again, “business meetings” at FMCOG are not boring and tedious meetings that take years off your life / they are meetings where earnest prayer and planning are given in order to keep our church on track for continued growth and ministry.  I send a special thanks to these dear men / God bless you brothers!

I also have a meal catered in for them (our monthly meetings will be three – four hours) and this time we used a restaurant called “Mac’s Speed Shop.”  It was a restaurant that Sonja read about in the magazine, “Southern Living.”  They have outstanding “Southern Cooking.”  I’ve never seen a group of men enjoy a meal anymore.  Harold Dover sat beside me and I watched him eat like a starving man / Ruth, feed the poor man something besides rice cakes and yogurt!  🙂

In Kempville things have been quiet / too quiet … David Lee is “under the weather” with an ear infection and bronchitis / so that makes us sad.  “Father God, I lift up a prayer asking You to watch over the Lad!”

I pray that things have been well for you.  Join me in being thankful for each day.  It’s so easy to let the days drift by allowing the daily routine of chores, tasks and everyday life to numb our sensitivities to the many little “gifts of life” / don’t miss it!  Hug those you love, hold them close.  Today is all we know we have in this life / make it count for what really matters.

With kindest thoughts toward you,

dlkemp
