100423: Hello from Columbia…again…

Good evening all my dear fellow PEPers and other less spicy family and friends!

Well business is picking up / Sonja arrived this afternoon.  I wrapped up my studies at 6:00 p.m. and, just according to plans, Sonja arrived at 6:10.    But I digress…

As far as the rest of the day / it has been a good day / I stayed at my desk all day / Bible and computer in hand / isn’t it funny how things have changed and yet how they have stayed the same.  My English translation of the Holy Scripture is the same Scripture that Jesus and the Apostles used 2000 years ago / matter of fact, I spent a lot of time in the book of Isaiah today – one of Jesus’ favorite books / and yet in place of writing on the sand or on the skins of animals or some other cumbersome medium I used a computer / something that did not exist even 100 years ago.  Wow!  Just another example of how we must be willing to be a part of a rapidly changing world and the best way is to be firmly committed to living our lives according to God’s plan for humankind – reveal through the Bible.

My!  Two nights in a row that I’ve gotten all preachy!  Let’s move on or I’ll feel obligated to take up an offering and give an invitation / the two young men working the desk tonight wouldn’t understand!

This evening Sonja and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at a nice restaurant called “Bonefish Grill” \ I’m trying to eat more healthy (grilled grouper for me this evening – “Excellent choice!”  That’s what the young lady and I agree.)

Then we came back to the motel and took a slow walk around a beautiful lake that is beside the hotel.  It has a scenic walking track around it with ducks and geese and other birds all around (several mother ducks with their chicks \ fun to watch and very tame).  It was a very wonderful evening.

Oh how I've missed the Lad!

And just in case you’re ever staying overnight in Columbia I highly recommend the hotel I’m staying in (one of two I stay in when in Columbia).  It is the Hampton Inn (Columbia-I-26/Harbison Blvd. Mall Area).

Well that about wraps up this day (at least all you’d want to hear about!) / we’ll be up early in the morning / got a busy day back in PEP-land.

Love and best wishes to all,

dlk
