Good evening everyone,
Today has been much different from my usual schedule. Yesterday evening I drove down to Columbia to spend a couple of days in study, prayer and planning. I try to do this a couple times a year / it’s a way to force myself to slow down and truly focus on God and His “still small voice.” So I have been locked up in a motel room all day except to go to the exercise room and the lobby a few times to get a fresh cup of coffee.
It’s been a productive time / I take this time very seriously and have tried to stay focused throughout the day. I feel that I will come back to Fort Mill with a better idea of what God sees for us over the next several months. I’ll just say this; I truly believe that God has His hand upon us and has higher expectations for us than perhaps others. This is not an arrogant or boastful statement but rather a humbling statement. While God loves everyone, He is not “fair” in how He distributes His talents and responsibilities. To some He gives five talents, to another two and then to a third only one. They are all his servants and all the talents (gifts, abilities, opportunities) belong to Him; but to those to whom much is given much is required.

“Well done” for one would only be “barely done” for another. “Good and faithful” for one would only be “so so and average” for another. I want us to truly give our B-E-S-T / not according to a manmade standard or expectation but according to the expectations and desires of Jesus.
One thing I know, if we love Him then we will have no trouble doing this. When we are passionately in love with someone nothing is too much for them. For the person we deeply love, we would give our lives. Oh may that be how we feel about Jesus!
Well, that’s a little “heavy” for a blog / but what do you expect for someone that’s been locked in a motel room all day 🙂
I just spoke with Sonja and she tells me that all have been well in kempsville except that she was stressing out a little over her efforts at preparing her power point for Sunday (pray saints!). The “Lad” (3.0) was in good form except when it came time for his afternoon nap (oh for the day) / and I’m assuming that no news is good news as far as PEP-land.

So there you have it, life through my eyes / hope things are going well with you. If you think of it, say a prayer for me tonight and tomorrow / as much as I travel, you’d think I’d be used to it by now; but I still hate being away from home / and especially from Sonja.
Blessings to all,
dlkemp
