100420: “Evening remarks from a man at peace…”

Good evening all you PEPers and other dear people!

Hope you had a good day.  It’s been a good day in Kempsville \ nothing much to report.  Outside of my regular Tuesday routine I conducted my quarterly ministerial mentoring session.  We had a large group of pastors on campus today and I feel like we made a difference in their lives.

However, after that I’m pretty much drained of any brain power (I know, there’s not that much as it is) so I’ll leave you with this for tonight…

  • “The question at the heart of Christianity is not a philosophical one or a political one or a liturgical one.  The question at the heart of Christianity is a relational one: “Who do you say that I am?”  Who we say that Jesus is says who we are.” _Leonard Sweet, Out of the Question, Into the Mystery, p. 2-3

I am at peace tonight \ with all my efforts today and all my running around trying to make a difference and touch all the bases \ the one thing that has truly mattered is that I’ve sensed the presence and pleasure of Jesus over my life. That fact, not whether or not I did well or achieved all my tasked or met everyone’s expectations is what gives me peace.  The same can be true for you tonight.  May you sense His loving care over you this evening.  All is well \ rest in Him \ cast your cares and concerns upon Him and be at peace.

Blessings to you all,

dlk
