Good evening everyone!
On the way home from prayer service Sonja and I were discussing “church” and about half home I said, “Honey, that’s it \ the week is over. No more church for the rest of the night.” I don’t know if women can do that as well as men / but I’m told we men are a little better at compartmentalizing / that is what I do on Saturday evenings. I’ve given it my best this week and on Saturday night after the prayer service I just let it all go. For good or bad, I’ve given it all I could this week / the results are in God’s hands now. So there…that’s enough.
I think we all have to have those moments / I hope you’re join me this evening. Give it all to God and enjoy a little ice cream (or pop corn for Ruth Dover :)) and then go to bed / not bad huh?
As far as today…
- A special shout out to Joyce Lang \ Sonja tells me that the Joy Conference was outstanding. She went over the lessons with me during dinner and the material was outstanding. We have some wonderful lady teachers in our church! THANKS JOYCE FOR ALL YOU AND YOUR TEAM HAVE DONE THIS WEEKEND.
- This weekend is our annual “Grounded” weekend. This is when our youth spend a weekend at the church. They’ve been fasting / doing good deeds / praying / playing / fellowshipping and just being kids / it’s been great. They joined me tonight at the prayer service and blew me away. I asked them to testify and one by one they came forward and shared their heart. I wish all of you could have been there / it was absolutely stunning. Our kids shared their hearts and it touched me deeply (all of us / there was not a dry eye in the house). They will be helping in the service tomorrow / I believe we are all going to be blessed. THANKS PASTOR GLENN FOR ALL YOU AND YOUR TEAM DO ALSO!
- Heartfelt condolences to Gina Helms (in far away Tanzania) / a dear and valued friend and her Mission Pastor from Virginia, Dr. Chris Feucht died unexpectedly from complications due to surgery. My heart goes out to you Gina and all Pastor Feucht’s family and friends \ you’re in my thoughts and prayers tonight
Let me give you a couple good quotations from my list today:
- “The difference between an ordinary Christian and a deeply committed one is that the ordinary Christian gets emotional, while the deeply committed Christian gets involved.” _K. G. McMillan
- Sue Kirk, I thought about our conversation in the parking lot this evening after Prayer Service on this one… “It is healthy for you to admit, “I am a limited resource.” You have only a certain amount of time, energy,
giftedness, resources, and money. You’ve got only so much to give, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.”
_H. Dale Burke, Less is More Leadership, p. 33
- “I mix religion with science. I count my blessings on a computer!”
Well, let’s cut to the chase / its ice cream time / for the record, I’ve done very well on my diet disciplines this week / so wish me well!
See ya in the morning / Lord willing / and no matter what / I close out this rambling missive by offering my heartfelt love and best wishes to you,
Picture of the day…my dad’s snowman from the last snow (just a few weeks ago!) \ I thought it would be a good reminder for those of us fighting the pollen!
