Day 29/40
Sonja sent me a comment that Teresa Zimmerman posted on her Facebook “Wall” the other day. It had to do with them passing us on I-77 recently.
“When we passed you guys on the interstate today Nick said “Momma, Pastor drives a Grand Marquis like Nana’s! That sure is a sweet ride!” I thought you’d like to know that the preschool set at FMCOG thinks you guys are cool!”
I feel like I’ve finally arrived. I’ve lived long enough to be an embarrassment to my kids (always fun) and to be considered in the camp of cool grandparents. It doesn’t get any better than that! J
With today being Wednesday, that means that there will be a lot of activity on our campus tonight. In addition to the usual ministry activities that will be occurring, let me remind you that the family of Ray Plyer will be receiving friends in the sanctuary from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Brother Plyer was a great man in our church and his family are dearly loved. I know you will want to honor him and offer your condolences.
One side note, with the use of the sanctuary a couple of our ministries will be affected (The Sounds of Praise and the Men’s Ministry class); but arrangements have been made to accommodate all parties involved; contact Pastor Larry and Pastor Jonathan
for specific details.
As always, thank you so much for your prayers and support. You will never know what it means to be surrounded by so many wonderful and dear people.
I love you all and count it a joy and privilege to serve as your pastor.
Blessings,
dlk
P.S. The “picture of the day” is my grandson, David Lee, and one of my “granddogs” Chase. Seeing this picture reminds me of the things that really matter. Remember peace is not something you’ll have after your latest stressful time is over. Peace is something that resides in us as a result of keeping our eyes on the big picture and what/who really matters. Start with Jesus and the rest of what and who that matters will begin to fall in place. (Put in an extra dollar Sunday for that little sermon! 🙂
