Update from Aiken, South Carolina

Day 27/40

Hello everyone!

I pray that you are getting off to a great week.  Sonja and I are in Aiken, South Carolina today for our annual denominationally sponsored “Prayer Conference.”  I arrived for a 1:00 p.m. District Overseer’s meeting and our State Bishop assured us that our state is doing great.  I praise the Lord for that.  Our church has a part in making that happen.  I don’t say a lot about denomination issues back at home, but I assure you that our church is highly respected in our denomination and is a pace-setter.  Your commitment and leadership is a blessing to many.  I am always proud to be known as the pastor of the great Fort Mill Church of God.

On a sad note, I learned this afternoon that one of our dear, dear men died today – Ray Plyer.  Ray was a prince of a man.  I have the highest respect for him.  He was one of the pillars of our church and will be missed sorely.  I send my deepest condolences to his dear wife and family.

I know many of you will be in attendance at our evening 40-day prayer service.  Pastor Wayne will be leading the service and I know he will have a good word for you.  You will be in my thoughts.  Even though I will be in church tonight I will be missing you.  I will be praying for you and thinking fondly of you; please do the same for Sonja and me.

With kindest affection,

dlk
