February 10, 2010 Day 22 of 40

Hello everyone!

Today is day 22/40 in our annual 40-days of Prayer Fasting.  Last night I noted something that is very predictable.  The trend each year is for the attendance at our evening 40-days services to get off to a roaring start and then about the halfway point it begins to fade a bit.  Sure enough I saw that happen this week.  At both the Monday and Tuesday services there was a wonderful spirit and the attendance was good; but it was much less than it had been.

Now I know that there is a lot more going on in our lives than what happens at our evening services; but I also know that what is happening in church is often a reflection of what is going on in our lives outside of church.  That is why I am bringing this matter up to you today – don’t grow weary in well doing!  Let me encourage you to stay firm in your 40-days commitments.  Getting off to a good start is good, but the prize only goes to those that finish.  Finish weak and you will get weak results for the rest of the year; finish strong and you will get strong benefits for the rest of the year.

Let’s commit together to “stay in the game” this year.  Too much is at stake to do otherwise.

Always know that I send my love, prayers and best wishes.  May the Lord of all mercy give you strength as you finish this day.

Blessings,

dlk
